Wine Description
A deep, ruby wine with purple undertones. Initial aromas of black pepper and plum on the nose suggest a cool-climate style. Black cherry, black pepper and cassis follow on the palate. French oak and skin tannins provide a solid structural foundation with plenty of heft. This youthful wine is just beginning to yield its secrets. At this stage, the wine benefits from an initial decanting.
The Saturn Syrah is made in a Cote Rotie style and co-fermented with 3% Viognier. This is one of only two Estate Syrahs grown and produced in the Chehalem Mountains AVA and one of only a handful in the Willamette Valley.
Tasting Notes
This is the fourth vintage from our Syrah and Viognier blocks planted in 2010. Another nearly ideal growing season that delivered exceptional fruit with larger than normal clusters. Harvest was on October 13th and bottling on January 7th, 2019.

Reviews
“Aromas of barbecued meat, white pepper, clove and black cherry. Medium-to full-bodied with fine, tight tannins. Spicy and savory. Cherry and plum. Sustainable. Drink now. Glass stopper.”
