The land
Compris sits in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, where a mix of soils, elevations, and exposures gives us natural range and nuance. Warm days and cool nights help preserve freshness, while the character of the site brings depth and structure.
We farm and craft with the same intention: let the land speak clearly, then make wines that are honest, expressive, and meant to be shared.
Varietals
Our estate is planted to a lineup chosen for this site and this climate. We grow Chardonnay, Viognier, Syrah, and Pinot Noir, including 95 Clone, Pommard, and Dijon clones 115, 777, and 667.
In recent years, we have replanted portions of the vineyard with Gamay and Cabernet Franc, continuing our commitment to thoughtful stewardship and to wines that reflect both the heritage and the evolving potential of the estate.
Sustainability
Sustainability at Compris is stewardship, caring for the land in a way that supports healthy vines, healthy soils, and a healthy community. We farm with organic practices and a regenerative mindset, using techniques that build soil life, encourage biodiversity, and work with nature’s rhythms. We also incorporate biodynamic practices as part of that approach.
Our vineyard and winery are certified by LIVE and Salmon Safe, strengthening our commitment to responsible farming, thriving ecosystems, and the long term health of this place. We invite you to experience the wines that grow from it, crafted with care and shared in a spirit of connection.
