2023 Vintage: Biodynamics in Full Swing
The 2023 growing season was as steady as a jazz riff—cool, wet spring, moderate summer, and a long, graceful finish. Bud break arrived fashionably late, but the vines made up for lost time with even ripening under biodynamic farming practices we introduced this year. Our commitment to vineyard biodiversity wasn’t just good for the planet—it gave us healthier vines and a harvest to celebrate.
Key dates:
September 7-9: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir started the season, delivering wines with bright acidity and complex aromatics.
September 11: Tempranillo for rosé, a juicy, fruit-forward delight.
September 22: Syrah closed the show with layered, concentrated flavors.
The 2023 vintage reflects a growing season defined by consistent weather and vineyard innovation. With biodynamic practices amplifying the natural character of the fruit, the wines from this year offer depth, balance, and a true expression of the Chehalem Mountains’ unique terroir.
The vintage’s smooth progression conjures the effortless groove of Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day.”
