Bright fall colors on Tempranillo and Pinot noir vines at Compris Vineyard on a beautiful sunny day.

Fine Autumn Wishes to Our Compris Family and Friends,

Fall weather is in full swing here at the vineyard. We happily embrace the sunshine when it graces us with its appearance and are also thankful for the rains that have changed our vineyard into a lush, green landscape. A perfect backdrop to the colorful vines. Rain means gorgeous rainbows and it’s nice to have them back as well! We put the last of the 2023 vintage into barrel in October, so now we wait while the wine safely rests and transforms into the beautiful bounty that we know this vintage holds.

Yes, the weather may be unpredictable this time of year, however, we always have a cozy spot for you to join us for a tasting or glass of wine! We've put the curtain up around the crush pad so it is fully enclosed once again to keep the weather out and heat in, but also allows for the moody views to be enjoyed next to a warm heater or curled up with a blanket. Come enjoy the changing colors while they are still here - we’d love to see you!

We are thankful to have you along on our journey.

Pre-Thanksgiving Open House

Come join us for a kick-off to the Holiday Season at our Pre-Thanksgiving Open House! Be the first to try our next two Compris wines for the one, and only, time they'll be available before they are released, and then be the last to try some of the remaining legacy Vidon wines before they are sold out. Vidon wines are still 50% off until they are gone, so come stock up for the Holiday season. Open House will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a wine flight and light refreshments for $30 per person. Wine club members receive two complimentary tickets per membership.

Holidays on your mind? Stock up now!

Gathering with family and friends is one of our favorite things about this time of year. Right now is a great opportunity to start planning for the holidays. Wine has the unique ability to bring people together and is meant to be shared, holiday parties are no exception, so be sure you have the perfect bottle for your celebrations on hand! We have the perfect pairing with some of your favorite Compris wine, as well as our special-priced Vidon bottles, to share with your loved ones or treat yourself for those expected and unexpected occasions! Our Valley Skies Rosé is a match with turkey!

We are so happy to hear the stories of people trying our Legacy Vidon Wines since we made them all available a little while ago. We were even lucky enough to have a few vintages that even our crew hadn't had the chance to try, shared with us by some generous club family members taking advantage of the current discount. It was great to see how much life vintages as far back as 2005 still have in them. Some other fan favorites have been the 2016 Mirabelle and the 2015 Barrel Select. Let us know if you have tried any of the older wines and what your thoughts were!

Read Our New Blog

Our new blog is up and ready for viewing! In this post Ryan discusses why he feels wine is for anyone and everyone, and shows, yet again, how he embodies and drives the Compris ethos. Please give it a read - we think you'll find he breaks down some of the misconceptions associated with enjoying wine, creating an approachable experience for all. Check it Out!

Recap of Events

We are getting out into the community and taking our wines on the road. Over the last month, we had the incredible pleasure of pouring at the Deal & Company Harvest Party in North Portland (who knew how great an Alpaca would make Ryan look?!?!) and soaking in some great river views during a happy hour in the Waverley Greens community in Milwaukie.

Stay tuned—we might just pop up in your neighborhood next. Are you hosting an event soon? Reach out! We'd love to bring the joy of wine to your special gathering. Cheers to more fantastic times ahead!

Our November Cause ~ Animals

The Compris Crew has a very special place in our hearts for animals - both our own and those that need loving homes. This month we support a local shelter dedicated to helping our community's homeless animals.

Homeward Bound Pets Humane Society is Oregon's first no-kill shelter and has been helping cats and dogs in our Yamhill County area for over 45 years. Each animal stays with them until they are adopted. In 2022 alone, their small staff and team of volunteers provided 13,000 lifesaving services for cats and dogs including: spay/neuter, shelter, reunited lost pets with their families, administered vaccines and microchips, and issued pet licenses to help ensure lost pets have a better chance of getting back home. This private, 501(c)(3) non-profit is dedicated to improving the lives of cats and dogs through adoptions and community partnerships. They are primarily funded through donations and rely heavily on volunteers to help our community's homeless animals receive the help they need and deserve. In addition to volunteering and donating, opportunities to support these generous folks include visiting their thrift store in person or online, fostering, or by adopting a pet in need.

Learn more by visiting their website, Instagram, and Facebook!

For the month of November, Compris Vineyard will be donating one dollar from every bottle sold or glass pour purchased of our Mountain Echo Pinot noir to Homeward Bound Pets Humane Society.
