Syrah, a varietal unique in the Willamette Valley, vine shoots are quickly growing at Compris Vineyard, a small, boutique winery in the Chehalem Mountains of Oregon.

Dear Compris Family and Friends,

Dru and I spent some time on the road this past month, heading out to the Southeast to share our wines in a few different cities. We started in Savannah, made our way through Charleston, and wrapped up in Charlotte.

It was a really fun trip - and honestly, an honor. We met so many people who love wine, some already familiar with Oregon and some trying it for the first time. We poured our Divided Light White Pinot Noir, Mountain Echo Pinot Noir, As One Pinot Noir, and Midnight Journey Syrah, and the response was incredibly positive. It never gets old watching someone take that first sip and seeing their reaction. Being able to share something we care so much about with people from all over the country is a pretty special part of what we do.

While we were away, things kept moving here at home, and we’re so grateful. Huge thanks to Danielle for holding things down, and to Trevor and Mackenzie for jumping in on some busy days - we couldn’t have done it without them.

Back in the vineyard, the shift from bud break to early growth always surprises me. The shoots are already stretching upward, leaves unfolding quickly in that bright, fresh green that only shows up this time of year. It’s been especially beautiful lately with the contrast of darker cover crops and those clear blue spring skies.

In the cellar (and now in your glass), we’re excited to release our 5th vintage of Lovely Days Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir - our first wine from 2025. It’s bright, composed, and just really enjoyable. The kind of bottle that’s easy to open with friends on a warm afternoon. We’ve also included it on this month’s tasting flight, so if you’re up for a visit to wine country, it’s a great time to come see the new growth in the vineyard and spend a relaxed day here.

May also happens to be Oregon Wine Month. Truthfully, we celebrate Oregon wine every day - but this time of year gives us a chance to pause and really appreciate the place, the people, and the wines that make it all so special. We’re grateful to be part of it, and even more grateful to share it with you.

We hope to see you soon, Dru + Erin

Pouring Purpose Into Every Bottle

At Compris Vineyard, we believe in caring for people, especially children, as deeply as we care for the land. Just as we nurture each vine to reach its full potential, we are committed to supporting the well-being of our community.

From April through June, we are proud to highlight Juliette’s House, an organization devoted to helping children affected by abuse begin their journey to healing.

Based here in Yamhill County, Juliette’s House provides compassionate care, guiding families from fear and uncertainty to safety and hope. Their no-cost services - including clinical care, trauma recovery, abuse prevention education, and advocacy – help children and families rebuild their futures. They also strengthen the community by training those who work with children to prevent, recognize, and respond to abuse and neglect.

This quarter, every bottle of our 2023 Mountain Echo Pinot Noir you enjoy helps support Juliette’s House and their mission to create a safer, brighter future for all. Because, much like in the vineyard, with the right care and support, children can grow, heal, and thrive. DONATE & SUPPORT JULIETTE'S HOUSE
