June certainly kept us on our toes! We saw everything from 90-degree days to rain, a touch of hail, and finally, some welcome cool weather to close out the month. The rain arrived right at the tail end of flowering in the vineyard, which had us holding our breath a bit. Thankfully, we were mostly through bloom, and the vines escaped any significant damage. As Aaron joked, we may have received just enough help from Mother Nature to save us a little cluster thinning later this season.
The vines certainly seem happy. They're already reaching beyond the top wire, and it's beautiful to see the vineyard so full and vibrant this early in the summer.
Earlier in the month, we gathered with our Anthology club members for our annual BBQ - rainstorm and all! It's one of our favorite traditions and a chance to slow down, share good food and fine, and catch up with so many of our friends.
Our bluebirds are thriving, too, with a few nesting boxes already onto their second broods. We love having these helpful vineyard friends around.
Summer is officially here, and we'd love to see you! Join us Friday through Monday for a tasting or a glass of wine, and some gorgeous Willamette Valley views.
