The Myth is a dry, estate-grown Willamette Valley Pinot Noir made entirely from our Dick's 95 selection, with dried cherry, ripe plum, dark berries, dark chocolate, cedar, and subtle herbs. Linear and energetic, it carries smooth but firm tannins along a fine mineral spine into a long, savory finish - more spine than satin, with precision over plushness.

Naming Inspiration

Inspired by Paul Simon's "All Around the World or The Myth of Fingerprints." The name nods to the long-traveled story of Dick's 95 and the distinctive imprint this Willamette Valley Pinot Noir selection leaves on the wine.

Studio Notes

• From the Vineyard: Estate Dick's 95 Pinot Noir from Block 4 at Compris Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. The block was planted in 2011 on windblown loess soil at approximately 350 to 400 feet elevation and grafted to Dick's 95 in 2016. LIVE Certified and farmed with organic and biodynamic principles.
• In the Cellar: The fruit was fully destemmed and received a three-day cold soak before native fermentation. Twice-daily pumpovers through dryness kept extraction controlled. The wine aged for 10 months in three French oak barrels, two Mercurey and one François Frères, with 33% new oak.
• Tech at a Glance: Harvested September 9, 2023, 22.4º Brix, 12.5% alcohol, TA 4.8 g/L, pH 3.65, 0 g/L residual sugar, 76 cases produced
