Wine Description
2023 gave us a slow, even growing season: cool and wet at the start, then classic sunny days and cool nights without extreme heat. That pace preserved acidity while Chardonnay built flavor and texture. Wavelength comes from Star Mooring Vineyard near Newberg, where shallow rocky volcanic soils over fractured basalt naturally emphasize tension and mineral drive. We fermented natively in large format Billon barrels and let the wine go fully through malolactic, then finished élevage with a short stainless chapter to sharpen the outline. It opens flinty and mineral, blooms into honeydew, stone fruit, quince paste, pear blossom, then finishes clean and mouthwatering.
