Dear Compris Family and Friends,
It's officially spring and we are here for it! The vines are perking up with this spring weather and we excited that another vintage is underway. While the years seem to fly by anymore, the growth cycle of our vineyard thankfully helps to keep us in check and solidly present with all that surrounds us.
Venture out to wine country this month! Everything is in growth mode and it's a joy to be able to sit on the overlook when the weather is clear. If it happens to be a rainy day, we'll have you covered, warm, and dry under the gazebo, on the crush pad, or indoors. The birds are happily chirping and singing, providing an ideal soundtrack for wine sipping. Come on out and soak up the vineyard vibes and views with us!

This month’s music intro is a special call out to one of our wines being released for the first time, Drum & Fife. We feel that this Pommard clone Pinot noir is the baseline of our vineyard's song. With its rustic, bold, and earthy notes, it holds some of our favorite Pinot noir characteristics. Inspired by the drum line in The Smashing Pumpkins song "Drum + Fife", we'll be tapping a beat while we sip on this elegantly structured wine. Want to experience what we're talking about? We cannot wait to welcome our Compris friends and family, as well as friends yet-to-be, at this Memorial Weekend event. Food, wine, and good vibes will be on hand! The team at Compris Vineyard thoroughly enjoys being in nature, whether that’s out in the vineyard or on a hike. It’s important to us to encourage everyone, especially kids, to get outdoors and learn about nature, our planet, and everything it provides us. We feel that when we’re actively enjoying nature, it affords us the ability to reset and really appreciate our surroundings, reminding us of how important it is to take care of Mother Earth. Compris is constantly looking for ways as to how we can better support our land and community by being proactive and making sustainable choices.
We have chosen to support Outdoor Education Adventures and their mission in honor of Earth Day and Earth Day Oregon 2024 because what they do to educate kids through experiences, knowledge, and learned skills, grows their own special connection with our planet, and is imperative for future generations. While Earth Day is specifically celebrated on April 22nd, we truly feel that every day is Earth Day.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our wine club members at the vineyard last month! With live music from Moorland Coyote, we were sipping and swaying while enjoying our delicious, seasonally inspired food bites from Caballero's Catering. It was incredibly special to be pouring, laughing, and cheering with one another. Thankful for our growing community!
We are partnering with some nearby wineries and offering a Spring Club Share for the entire month of April, exclusively for our wine club members! Come to Compris to pick up your club share card and use it at any of the listed wineries for a complimentary wine tasting. We can't wait for you to meet our friends!

The Compris team whole-heartedly believes that no child deserves to be abused or neglected. We are thankful that Juliette's House generously assists children and their families to receive the care and protection they need.
For 26 years, Juliette's House has assessed and supported abused or neglected children from Yamhill, Polk, and nearby Oregon counties - up to 300 children annually. Recognized as an Accredited Member of the National Children's Alliance, Juliette's House often receives referrals from Child Protective Services, law enforcement, or medical professionals regarding children suspected of suffering sexual or physical abuse, serious neglect, drug endangerment exposure, or witnessing domestic violence.
By collaborating with law enforcement agencies, mental heath agencies, and crime victim services, they are able to compassionately reduce additional trauma. Their medical and forensic approach includes thorough medical exams and interviews in a child-friendly environment, designed to ease the investigation and treatment process for children and their families. Juliette's House also offers trauma recovery services, providing behavioral health support through evidence-based practices and educational groups for children, non-offending caregivers, and adult abuse survivors.
Juliette's House also delivers extensive abuse prevention education across the community and in schools, aiming to educate and empower individuals from preschoolers to adults. Their focus includes training those working with children to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to abuse or neglect suspicions.
