A spring day in the vineyard at Compris - white flowers bloom beneath Syrah vines with the valley view in the background.

Dear Compris Family and Friends,

May was truly a wonderful month for us! The weather was just about perfect, the wildflowers and roses in the vineyard started blooming, and the birds started to show their fledglings where to explore. It was also a busy month for us as we hit the road to share Compris with Central Oregon and Seattle, and popped up locally in Hillsboro, Portland, Carlton, McMinnville, Newberg, and Dundee. We had so much fun getting out and meeting wine lovers around the Northwest! At the end of the month we had the honor of celebrating our second anniversary of being Compris Vineyard. Time sure does fly and we are incredibly thankful to be sharing what this special property offers us with so many fantastic folks.

We also had the first tastes of the 2023 Pinot noirs as the team sat for our first Pinot blending trial under Aaron's expertise. This meant we had to taste a lot of beautiful Pinot noir, thoughtfully choosing our favorite blend for each specific wine. It was tough to sip on so many elegant wines, but know that we did it just for you :) We are incredibly pleased with and excited for the 2023 vintage!

We have a brand-new flight put together for June, including our just-released Rosé of Tempranillo! We'd love to share these wines with you this month. Remember that the Adirondacks on the vineyard overlook are calling your name, just waiting for you to take a moment to relax and enjoy a glass of wine with a friend or loved one, while the birds sing to you in the background.

A New Release!

We're thrilled to announce the release of our 2023 Valley Skies Rosé of Tempranillo! Just in time for celebrating summer's upcoming arrival, this savory rosé is visually reminiscent of our hillside's sunset skies, painted in a blend of pinks and oranges. It has bright acidity, along with a pleasant freshness, notes of white raspberries, pineapple guava, and a splash of passion fruit. Come on out for a visit and have a taste - we'd love to share this wine with you!

What's in a Song?

As you may know, our wine names come to us by way of some of our favorite songs. Valley Skies was inspired by the Foo Fighter's "Long Road to Ruin". We love to sip this wine on our vineyard overlook, rocking with the beat as the "colors change in the valley skies". Our Willamette Valley sunsets are pure beauty and we feel that this gorgeous wine pairs perfectly! Learn More & Purchase Your Valley Skies

All Club Members: July Baseball Night!

We're gathering our club members for a fantastic evening of baseball in Hillsboro on Saturday, July 13th! The Hillsboro Hops are our local Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and play just 24 miles north of the winery. We will be cheering on the home team from our private upper deck space behind home plate, while noshing on a delicious catered meal, and sipping on Compris wine! Our June Cause ~ Inclusion

We are excited to be celebrating Pride month at Compris! It is important to every member of our team that each and every individual on this planet feels, and is, welcomed and included in all aspects of life. Compris is a safe space for all who visit, and we are proud to support Wine Country Pride and their initiatives throughout the community!

Wine Country Pride has been creating spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to be heard and welcomed. Wine Country Pride was founded by a small group of like-minded local friends and business owners that realized there was not enough representation of the LGBTQ+ community in the rural Willamette Valley wine country. They are a young organization with big goals and dreams.

Wine Country Pride raises funds and organizes events to provide scholarships to LGBTQ+ youth and support local organizations that advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. They have expanded their programming and initiatives with the aim to positively impact as many people in our community as possible. Pride will always be a place to come together and to feel welcome and safe. Wine Country Pride creates visible celebrations of the queer community while connecting all people through education and economic activity.

Learn more about how you can support by visiting their website, Instagram, and Facebook!

For the month of June, Compris Vineyard will be donating one dollar from every bottle sold or glass pour purchased of our Valley Skies Rosé of Tempranillo.

"Like human beings, a wine's taste is going to depend a great deal on its origins and its upbringing." ~ Linda Johnson-Bell
