A cluster of Pinot noir in development, with small berries forming.

*Dear Compris Family and Friends,

*June signaled growth for us in the vineyard! The warm weather that started the month off boosted the vines to shoot towards the sky and also to begin flowering on the 11th. Flowering is where the clusters on the vine produce tiny flowers that bloom and self-pollinate the berry seeds, leading to the production of berries. The time of flowering is always a little nerve-wracking as the flowers are delicate and determine how many berries will ultimately make it into the vintage. We did have some rain a bit after flower started, but we're cautiously optimistic that they fared well as we now watch the berries start to develop. A couple more days of warm rain closed out the month.

*We hosted our first annual Anthology club barbeque last month, which was truly a fun and relaxing gathering. Getting our members together and connecting with them as they connect with each other is always a special time for our crew. We are honored and fortunate to be a part of so many fantastic people's growing and ever-changing lives.

*Come up for a visit this month and see the vines in their lush, green glory! We have a new flight on deck which is showcasing our Perpetual Sound Reserve Chardonnay - its first appearance on a flight, and one that we're sure you'll enjoy on one of these nice summer days.

*Thank you for continuing to join us on our journey - your support honestly means so much to all of our team.

What's in a song?

The Lovely Days are back at Compris! This month’s music intro is a special call out to a classic song by Bill Withers, "Lovely Day". This song is all about finding joy in the here and now, and what better way to celebrate and be thankful for the beauty and good things around us than with a glass of delicious, refreshing, pink Pinot noir bubbles? We feel our 2023 Lovely Days Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir is perfect for the occasion.

This year's sparkler has white strawberries and strawberry blossoms on the nose, dancing on your palate before finishing with a layered blend of red berries and cream. The ideal wine for sharing on a beautiful afternoon relaxing on the deck or floating on the lake as the sunlight warms your toes. It's "gonna be a lovely day" every time you sip! Bring home your sparkle from Compris!

Our July Cause ~ Inclusion

Compris exists to create a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable community through wine. For the month of July, we highlight and lift up Our Legacy Harvested (OLH), a local nonprofit founded in 2020 to educate, advance, and empower the BIPOC community in the wine industry.

OLH works with BIPOC individuals at any career level to advance their knowledge, expertise, and opportunities in wine by providing an internship experience at wineries for spring direct-to-consumer opportunities and fall harvest. They believe in fostering and facilitating bread-breaking opportunities with industry representatives and members of the winemaking community to encourage strong, lasting relationships. OLH values partnering with wineries to ensure tasting rooms, cellars, and vineyards better reflect the diverse world of wine they represent. Donated funds to OLH will go to help to provide housing, transportation, and programming for the interns.

Save the Date! The 5th Annual BIPOC Block Party will take place on Saturday, August 31st in McMinnville. This celebration features BIPOC-owned vendors of food, drink, art, and goods, along with live music, performances, and kids' activities. Help OLH further their mission to bring more diversity to the wine community by attending, donating, or both!

Learn more by visiting their website, Instagram, and Facebook!

For the month of July, Compris Vineyard will be donating one dollar from every bottle sold or glass pour purchased of our As One Pinot noir. Donate Now!
