A view of Compris Vineyard in the fall as the colors change, creating a beautiful view. Other vineyards and the Dundee Hills are in the distance.

Dear Compris Family and Friends,

It’s impossible to miss that fall surrounds us at the vineyard. The changing colors across the landscape, murmurations of migrating birds, and volunteer pumpkins sprouting from past compost are all around. The crisp days often begin with bright sunrises or moody fog that can give way to rain with breaks of light. This time of year is one of our favorites—a season full of beauty and signs of gatherings to come as the holidays approach.

Our fifth harvest is now officially wrapped up, with the Cabernet Franc having just been pressed and put into barrel on Thursday. We’re especially excited to watch this one age—our very first vintage of this varietal. The other wines are coming along beautifully. We tasted through several barrels with our winemaker, Aaron, this past week and are thrilled about what’s developing for our 2025 vintage.

This is a perfect moment to reflect on the past five years and feel gratitude for all the connections we’ve made and the privilege of tending to this land. It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years! We’re celebrating all month long with a special throwback flight from our very first harvest in 2021, and we’ll be hosting a special anniversary party on November 15th. We hope you’ll join us this month—to share memories from years past and make a few new ones too.

We are deeply grateful for the support we’ve received from you, our friends and wine community. Whether you visit us in person, catch up by email, or simply read along in this newsletter, it means so much that you stay connected with us.

With gratitude, The Compris Crew

The Final Few

Our 2024 Valley Skies Rosé of Tempranillo is nearly gone — and this vintage marks the last of its kind. With aromas of peach, nectarine, lilac, and guava, and notes of ripe melon and watermelon rind on the finish, it’s a bright, fruit-driven sendoff to a wine we’ve truly loved. We think it’s a perfect bottle to have on hand for the holidays — don’t wait too long to get yours before it’s gone for good. Find Your Valley Skies

Pouring Purpose Into Every Bottle

At Compris Vineyard, we know that life is best when shared—whether it’s a great bottle of wine with friends or a warm home with a four-legged companion. This quarter, we’re raising our glass in support of Newberg Animal Shelter, a local no-kill shelter dedicated to giving animals the care, compassion, and second chance they deserve.

The shelter relies on donations, adoption fees, and community support to continue its mission of placing animals in loving homes, providing pet food for local food banks, and ensuring every adoptable pet is spayed or neutered. This month, a portion of proceeds from every bottle of our Midnight Journey Syrah will go directly to Newberg Animal Shelter.

Just as every vintage tells a story, every animal waiting for adoption has one too—and you can help write their next chapter. Please consider visiting, donating, or volunteering to support this important work. Donate Now!
