Wine Description
Joy & Pagne was a one-time wine born out of a year that asked a lot. After losing all of the estate Chardonnay to frost in 2022, we leaned into what the vineyard could still give us and made something we hadn’t made before: a Blanc de Noir from Pinot Noir. What could have stayed disappointment became a different kind of bottle entirely - bright, textural, and quietly celebratory.
Picked two weeks ahead of the rest of the Pinot Noir harvest, the fruit came in with excellent acidity and structure. Whole-cluster pressed lightly right after harvest and guided through a long élevage that moved from neutral French oak to stainless, Joy & Pagne carries both polish and play. It’s a serious wine, as all of ours are, but this one arrives with a little extra lift - fresh, mineral, and made from a vintage that taught us how to turn loss into something joyful.

Naming Inspiration
Joy & Pagne came from a year that gave us both. After losing all of our Chardonnay to frost in 2022, we chose to make a Blanc de Noir instead - a sparkling wine from Pinot Noir that turned a difficult vintage moment into something bright and celebratory. The name nods to Joy and Pain by Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, while "Pagne" plays off Champagne in a way that lets the wine keep a little humor without losing its footing.
It's a name that fits the bottle: polished, playful, and made from the idea that even a hard year can still give something worth raising a glass to.
