Wavelength: Chardonnay

$55.00 /750ML

Wine Description

Wavelength is a dry, mineral-driven Oregon Chardonnay with wet stone, bright citrus, lemon balm, and fresh garden herbs.  Vivid acidity gives the wine a clean, energetic line, while extended lees aging adds a supple mid-palate and a long, precise finish - textured without ever feeling heavy.

Naming Inspiration
Inspired by "All I Really Want" by Alanis Morissette. Wavelength is named for the way this Oregon Chardonnay moves: bright and clear at first, then settling into texture and depth, with acidity and fruit held in balance from the first note through the finish.

Studio Notes

  • From the Vineyard: Chardonnay from Tre Figli Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, planted on Laurelwood soil at approximately 850 ft elevation. LIVE certified and farmed with organic and biodynamic principles
  • In the Cellar: Aged in Billon French oak, with 80% of the wine in 600-liter puncheons and 15% new oak. The wine spent 12 months on lees in oak with stirring, followed by five months in stainless steel, and completed malolactic fermentation.
  • Tech at a Glance: Harvested September 24, 2024, 22.3º Brix, 13.2% alcohol, TA 6.7 g/L, pH 3.12,  0 g/L residual sugar, 160 cases produced

Tasting Notes

Style at a glance: Dry; Vivid acidity; Supple texture; Long, mineral finish

Aroma: Wet stone, lemon balm, chervil, wild basil, spruce tips, and bright citrus

Palate: Bright acidity leads with clarity and momentum before opening into a richer, lees-shaped mid-palate. Structured and energetic, with quiet breadth and a clean, lingering finish.

Pairs well with: Dungeness crab, grilled halibut, herb-roasted chicken, chèvre, spring vegetables, and creamy pasta or risotto.

Open it for: A long lunch, a seafood dinner, or anytime you want Chardonnay with freshness and substance rather than weight.

“These aromas of Golden Delicious apples, lemon butter and talc are certainly on the right wavelength for me. Then there's the wine's acidity, which is like slightly licking the lemon wedge after you've squeezed its juice into your iced tea. Wavelength's flavors are a mix of lemon verbena, lemon zest, chamomile tea and a bit of butter. The wine aged on its lees in 600L puncheons and 228L barrels, with full malololactic fermentation. — Michael Alberty”

“Aromas of white peaches, Bosc pears and five spice powder with flavors of salted caramel, green apples and fall spices. This is a pleasant, warm-feeling, medium-bodied wine. Citrus acidity kicks in at the end for a clean finish. Drink now. - Courtney Humiston, Staff Writer & Taster”
