Dear Compris Family and Friends,
Things are moving right along in the vineyard, and this vintage is shaping up beautifully. The clusters are plentiful and healthy—so much so that we’ll be dropping some fruit in the coming weeks. This thinning process helps direct the vine’s energy to fewer clusters, resulting in more concentrated flavors, even ripening, and ultimately, higher-quality fruit.
July was full of connection and good company. We had the pleasure of pouring our wines at two fantastic spots in McMinnville—Acorn to Oak and Nick’s Italian Café. We also welcomed our club member family to the vineyard for a stargazing night under the July sky, which was a true joy. This month, we’re excited to reconnect with our Rosmarino family for our annual winemaker dinner—it’s always a treat to see (and taste!) the thoughtful menu Chef Dario puts together.
Our fifth harvest is just around the corner, and Dru and I have been feeling a bit nostalgic. It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since that first harvest in 2021—when exhilaration and exhaustion went hand in hand, friends dropped everything to pitch in, and the grapes gave us an incredible vintage to launch it all.
In the spirit of looking back, we’re pouring two 2021 Pinot Noirs on our August tasting flight: the 2021 Rhythm Child and 2021 As One. Sharing these wines feels like opening a time capsule, and we’d be honored to pour a glass for you. Come visit and taste where it all began.
Thanks for being here with us.
~ The Compris Crew
Two special new wines are here and ready to be shared with you!
2021 Supernova Sparkling Blanc de Blanc Our first-ever traditional method sparkling wine, Supernova doesn’t shout—it glows. Notes of kumquat and stone fruit rise over brioche and ginger root, with lively acidity driving a precise, lifted palate. Structured yet bright, it finishes clean and clear—a radiant debut, meant to shine. Find Your Supernova Here
2024 Mystery Tour Viognier
Roll up for the Mystery Tour—Viognier is back. With just 11 rows on the estate, it’s always rare, but never the same. The 2024 vintage brings lifted aromatics and savory depth: pear blossom, candied lime, and lilac over a textured, lees-aged palate. One barrel. No map. Just a wine worth following wherever it leads. Today, Friday, August 1st, from 11am-3pm we are excited to be hosting Satyr Fire at Compris, where our friend and winemaker, Paul, will be pouring his wines alongside ours! We've put together an exclusive, collaborative tasting flight - he'll share three whites and we'll follow with three reds. Join us for this fun and unique opportunity!
Then, from 4-7pm, we're heading next door to Appassionata Estate to enjoy a relaxing summer evening. We'll be enjoying their diverse wine selection (rumor has it that they'll be pouring a special Riesling just for this evening!), while listening to live music by Lisa James. It's truly a beautiful day to be in wine country!
Join us at Rosmarino Osteria Italiana in Newberg on Friday, August 15th for a five-course winemaker dinner. Our friend, Chef Dario, and will create a special Northern Italian menu just for this evening, each dish thoughtfully paired with a Compris wine. Rosmarino holds a special place in our hearts—not only because every meal is unforgettable, but also because it’s where Dru and Erin first learned about the vineyard that would one day become home. We can't wait to share an evening of incredible food, wine, and memories with you! Visit Us at Rosmarino!
We're kicking off harvest with the Compris Family!
We’re thrilled to invite our Wine Club members to the Fall Club Pick-Up Celebration at the vineyard! The event will feature live tunes by Ronni Kay, seasonal bites, and a variety of wine. It's the perfect opportunity to embrace the upcoming season and connect with fellow club members!

At Compris Vineyard, we believe in caring for people as deeply as we care for the land. Just as our wines begin in the vineyard, so does our continuous commitment to those who tend it. From July through September, we’re honored to support AHIVOY—a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Latinx and Hispanic vineyard stewards here in the Willamette Valley.
With a focus on education, leadership, and professional growth, AHIVOY opens doors for vineyard workers who are often overlooked in the broader wine industry. Their bilingual program, developed in partnership with local colleges, offers coursework in viticulture, wine business, and WSET certification—helping stewards deepen their knowledge and expand their opportunities.
But AHIVOY’s impact goes beyond the classroom. Through mentorship, field experiences, and community connection, they nurture confidence and leadership—breaking down barriers and creating pathways to long-term success in the industry.
This month, every bottle of our Wavelength Estate Chardonnay you enjoy helps support AHIVOY and their mission to uplift the people who are the backbone of Oregon wine. Because when we invest in those who care for the vines, we help the entire wine community grow, thrive, and flourish. Donate Now!
