Dormant grape vines standing tall at Compris vineyard in the winter.

Dear Compris Family and Friends,

Welcome to 2025! Last year was filled with meaningful connections, both near and far, as our team engaged with others, exchanged ideas, and highlighted what Compris is all about. Looking to the year ahead, we're excited about the opportunities to nurture existing relationships and create new ones. With new wines to share, destinations to visit, and a vintage to begin growing, we're keeping our eyes on the days ahead (and the vines, of course!).

The vines are dormant this time of year, giving them time to rest before another season of growth. The cool temperatures help to ensure proper bud development in the spring, when the carbohydrates being stored from the fall will help fuel new growth. While the leaves have all fallen, the barren vines provide an artful look to the vineyard, the brown canes woven through the wires and standing tall.

If you want a peaceful place this month to unwind after the busy holidays and enjoy a moody view with occasional rays of sunshine (and some wine in your glass), we have your warm, cozy seat waiting for you! Our hillside spot provides a nice vantage point to watch the cloudy fog come and go. The new tasting flight this month is showcasing our first release of the new year, a wine that's sure to warm you on these winter days - our estate Tempranillo!

Here's to another year of growth, collaboration, and continued connection! ~ The Compris Crew

Try January!

This January, we invite you to Try January with us— a month dedicated to discovery and stepping outside the usual. Our just-released 2022 Moonlit Sky Tempranillo is the perfect place to start. Why settle for the same old thing when you can try something fresh, exciting, and undeniably satisfying? It opens with dusty earth, tart cranberries, and cherries, balanced by hints of vanilla and nutmeg. On the palate, it’s lean and bright, with a crisp freshness that leads to a surprisingly long, structured finish. Like the lyric “she be dancing in the moonlit sky,” Moonlit Sky offers a rare blend of dark intensity and effortless grace—an ideal wine to kick off the new year.

We’re so proud of the wines we’ve crafted, and each one reflects the unique place we call home. Whether it’s the savory depth of our 2022 Midnight Journey Syrah, with its bold layers and vibrant finish, or the bright, fruit-forward character of our 2023 Valley Skies Rosé, each one offers a chance to experience something special. This month, we’re all about embracing new experiences—whether it’s a wine you haven’t tried before or a flavor that surprises you.

We’d love to have you visit us this month and explore these wines, or let us bring them right to your door. Here’s to new experiences, new favorites, and a year filled with memorable moments.

Pouring Purpose Into Every Bottle

At Compris Vineyard, giving back is part of who we are. Over the past three years, we’ve partnered with a different charitable organization each month to make a meaningful difference. In 2025, we’re taking a fresh approach, dedicating each quarter to one cause, allowing us to deepen our impact across four areas close to our hearts: child welfare, animal welfare, sustainability, and equitable opportunities for farmworkers.

From January through March, we’re proud to support Unidos Bridging Community. Based here in Yamhill County, Unidos strengthens connections between Latino and non-Latino communities, empowering individuals through programs like youth workforce development, citizenship classes, and advocacy for farmworker wellness. Their work aligns beautifully with our belief that strong communities are built when everyone has a seat at the table and the resources to thrive.

This quarter, every bottle of our As One Pinot Noir you enjoy helps advance Unidos’ mission of building bridges and creating opportunities. Together, we can raise a glass to connection, growth, and the vibrant spirit of our shared community. Learn more about Unidos’ inspiring work here.
